How to write a classified ad that sells fast

A good title does half the work

Buyers scan dozens of listings, so your title must be clear and specific. Include the brand, model, key feature and condition — for example, “iPhone 13 128GB, excellent condition” beats “phone for sale”.

Photos sell

  • Use natural daylight and a clean background.
  • Add 5 to 8 photos from different angles, including any flaws.
  • The first photo is your thumbnail — make it the most attractive one.

Write a description that answers questions

  • State the condition honestly and mention the reason for selling.
  • List the size, age, dimensions or technical details buyers will ask about.
  • Add what is included (charger, documents, spare parts).
  • Keep paragraphs short and easy to scan on a phone.

Price it right

  • Check similar active listings before setting your price.
  • Leave a small margin for negotiation, but avoid unrealistic numbers.
  • “Price negotiable” invites more messages than a fixed, high price.

Respond quickly and politely

The first hours after publishing bring the most views. Reply fast, stay friendly, and arrange a safe meeting. A complete, honest listing with good photos and a fair price usually sells within days.
